Worker dies after being caught in machinery at Asan auto parts factory

A fatal accident occurred at a car parts factory in Asan, South Chungcheong Province, on Tuesday morning, resulting in the death of a male worker in his 30s. The incident took place around 6:20 AM in the Inju-myeon district.

According to the Asan Police Station, the worker was inspecting a cooling machine used for heat-treated parts when the equipment suddenly started operating, trapping him. The accident happened while he was performing the inspection, reportedly with another colleague present.

Emergency services were dispatched to the scene, and the injured worker was transported to a nearby hospital in critical condition. Despite resuscitation efforts, he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival. The factory supplies parts for car brakes, and the deceased was confirmed to be a full-time employee.

Police have launched an investigation into the precise circumstances surrounding the accident, interviewing factory officials and other relevant personnel to determine the cause.
