Worker Falls 40 Meters to Death from Golf Range Tower in Goyang

Tragedy struck at a golf driving range in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province, when a 60-year-old worker lost his life after a fall from a towering structure. The incident occurred on the morning of the 11th, around 9:15 AM, at an outdoor facility in Deokyang-gu.

The worker, who was employed by a painting contractor, was engaged in exterior painting work on a steel tower that supports the golf practice area's nets. While working near the top of the approximately 40-meter-high structure, he fell to the ground below.

Emergency services were dispatched to the scene. The worker was transported to a nearby hospital in a state of cardiac arrest but unfortunately succumbed to his injuries. Preliminary reports suggest the accident happened while the worker was painting near the apex of the tower.

Authorities are now investigating the circumstances surrounding the fatal fall. Both the police and the Ministry of Employment and Labor have initiated a probe into the incident. Their investigation will focus on determining the precise cause of the fall and, crucially, whether all necessary safety protocols and regulations were adhered to by the company and the workers on site.
