World Business History Congress Honors Lotte Founder Shin Kyuk-ho's Entrepreneurial Spirit

The World Congress of Business History, held in Toronto, Canada, focused on the entrepreneurial legacy of Lotte Group founder Shin Kyuk-ho. Professor Baek In-soo of Osaka University of Economics presented his research titled "Boundless Advantage: A Dynamic Study of Lotte Founder Shin Kyuk-ho's Cross-Border Entrepreneurial Journey." Baek introduced the concept of "Boundless Advantage," defining it as the capability to transform knowledge and resources acquired across borders, industries, and organizations into new growth engines. This concept encapsulates Shin's strategy of operating without conventional limitations. The professor analyzed Shin Kyuk-ho's life and career, dividing it into four distinct phases: youth, early middle age, late middle age, and old age. This chronological approach allowed for a detailed examination of how Shin navigated different stages of his life and business development.
