World Cup 2026 Sensation Vozinha Signs for Chilean Club Colo Colo

Vozinha, the celebrated goalkeeper for Cape Verde who captured attention at the 2026 World Cup, is set to bring his talents to Chilean club Colo Colo after successfully passing his medical examinations. The 40-year-old's arrival has generated considerable excitement, with around 500 fans gathering at the airport to welcome him with banners and cheers.

Josimar José Évora Dias, known as Vozinha, finalized his move to Colo Colo after his contract with Chaves in Portugal's Second Division expired. He has signed a deal that runs until December, with a potential extension for the entirety of 2027. The club officially announced his successful medicals via social media, stating, "Vozinha passed his medical exams at the Meds clinic, and only the signature remains to seal his deal with Colo-Colo."

Upon arrival, Vozinha expressed his gratitude for the fans' warm reception, noting, "I want to thank the fans for their affection and patience." He added, "See you soon at the Monumental, thank you very much." He also shared his surprise and delight at the large turnout, stating, "I didn't expect so many people after the time it took for everything to get here, so it's very gratifying."

Vozinha is scheduled for his first training session under coach Fernando Ortiz on Tuesday, with his official presentation to the media planned for Wednesday at the Estadio Monumental.
