Basketball superstar LeBron James celebrated Folarin Balogun's goals for the United States in their World Cup victory on Wednesday. The striker emulated James's trademark “Silencer” celebration twice during the 2-0 win over Bosnia and Herzegovina, though his first goal was disallowed for offside.

James posted on X, formerly Twitter, "THE (Silencer) HAS (Arrived) at the World Cup!" using a shushing emoji and a plane landing emoji. He added, "Helluva goal there, Young (King)!" referring to his own nickname. The post garnered nearly four million views.

The “Silencer” celebration involves lifting the knees, pushing palms toward the floor, and tapping the chest, signaling that an opponent has been silenced. Balogun, 24, who was born in New York but raised in London and plays in France, is a basketball fan. American soccer scouts famously flew him to Florida for NBA courtside tickets to convince him to play for the US.

Balogun has scored three goals in the current World Cup, helping the US reach the last-16. However, he will miss the upcoming match against Belgium due to a red card received in the second half of the Bosnia game. James, 41, recently announced his departure from the Los Angeles Lakers but will return for a 24th NBA season with a different franchise.
