Omiš, Croatia, found itself at the center of global media attention as a devastating wildfire raged through the region. The blaze, which erupted Thursday evening in Lokva Rogoznica, spread rapidly toward Omiš due to strong and shifting winds. The fire consumed forest areas, populated zones, and homes, forcing the evacuation of approximately a thousand residents and tourists. Firefighters battled for hours to contain the inferno.
