World Number One Scottie Scheffler Wins His Second FedEx Cup

Scottie Scheffler began the final round three strokes behind Viktor Hovland, but by Sunday’s finish the result felt almost inevitable. The world number one delivered a steady four-under 66 as the players around him faded, securing his second FedEx Cup title at the Tour Championship in Atlanta.

The victory, Scheffler’s 22nd on the PGA Tour, came with a $10 million prize. Scheffler’s four-under round was the only score under par among the players in the final three pairings. His accurate approach play gave him a clear advantage as Hovland struggled with his driving and putting. The Norwegian shot 72 to finish three strokes back in second, while American debutant Ryan Gerard also shot 72 and finished third at 12 under.

Rory McIlroy finished tied for fourth after a 69 that included four birdies, an eagle and five bogeys. Justin Rose produced the day’s other standout moment with a hole-in-one on the ninth, while Alex Fitzpatrick’s 66 lifted him into the same tie for fourth in his tournament debut.
