World Record: Strongman moves 1,500-ton stadium field

Denis Vovk, a three-time Guinness World Record holder, has achieved another remarkable feat by single-handedly moving a retractable stadium field weighing approximately 1,500 tons. The event took place at the Gazprom Arena in St. Petersburg, marking a world-first accomplishment in its category.

During the test, Vovk demonstrated extraordinary strength by operating six of the 32 traction mechanisms that typically control the massive structure. In just 81 seconds, he managed to move the field a distance of 4.05 meters. This result was officially registered by representatives of the International Strongman Union, who confirmed the uniqueness of the achievement.

The retractable field at Gazprom Arena is recognized as one of the most complex engineering constructions of its kind. Such systems are rare, being used at only a handful of stadiums worldwide, making the arena a fitting venue for this unprecedented display of human power.

This is not Vovk's first foray into setting strength-based world records. In 2024, he gained recognition for being the first person to move a 650-ton Sapsan high-speed train, pulling it 1.48 meters in 37 seconds. He has also previously set records for towing aircraft, further solidifying his reputation as one of the world's strongest individuals.
