The current administration, largely controlled by the Republican Party, has engaged in actions like a "wildly unpopular and likely illegal war on Iran" with minimal effect beyond casualties. With upcoming elections posing potential significant losses, the Trump administration is employing various tactics to mitigate damage.

Donald Trump has significantly influenced the semiquincentennial commemoration, redirecting funds towards personal projects and redecorating Washington in a "signature Mar-a-Lago style." This includes gilding bronze statues, proposing triumphal arches, and even considering a remodel of the Lincoln Memorial. Large banners featuring historical figures, some possibly AI-generated, advertise events like the "Great American State Fair," while the reflecting pool remains an "algal green."

A particularly striking example of this approach was the "UFC Freedom 250" event held on the White House lawn. Sponsored by cryptocurrency companies and firms with ties to the Trump family, the event was streamed on Paramount+, whose parent company's merger was controversially approved by a Trump-friendly administration. Accusations of attempted match-fixing against Eric Trump further marred the event's integrity, underscoring the vast network of corruption associated with the Trump family.

The administration's efforts extend beyond cosmetic changes into historical revisionism, aiming to present the nation's founding in line with MAGA principles. "Mobile museums" tour the country promoting material from right-wing organizations like PragerU and Hillsdale College. A "Founders Museum" in Washington features AI-generated videos of historical figures spouting conservative talking points.
