Wrestler Serhat Elvan, allegedly attacked, transfers to Tokat Belediye Spor Kulübü

Wrestler Serhat Elvan has officially joined the Tokat Belediye Spor Kulübü, signing a contract at a ceremony held at the Ali Yücel Sports Hall. Elvan recently gained attention following an alleged assault at a fuel station two days earlier while en route to a wrestling event in Samsun's Vezirköprü district.

Tokat Belediye Spor Kulübü President Ahmet Akcan condemned the attack, stating, "Our başpehlivan Serhat Elvan was attacked by a group of wrestlers in Samsun. First of all, we condemn this incident. Wrestling is not a sport of violence. Wrestling is a sport where brotherhood, bravery, discipline, and ethics come to the forefront." Akcan announced that Elvan would continue his wrestling career with the club under the instruction of Tokat Mayor Mehmet Kemal Yazıcıoğlu.

Elvan himself addressed the incident, saying, "I truly condemn the attack. I thank the politicians, wrestlers, masters, and the people of Tokat who have supported me. People saw that this was not a fair attack. I did not deserve this. I will return to the field stronger."
