Writer Ayten Öztürk Fatally Stabbed by Nephew Over Inheritance Dispute

A dispute over inheritance tragically turned fatal for Turkish writer Ayten Öztürk. The incident occurred in Küçükyayla village, Vize district, Kırklareli, where Öztürk was visiting her mother and relatives for the Kurban Bayram holiday.

While sitting in the garden with her mother and aunt, Öztürk became embroiled in an argument with her nephew, identified as B.S. The disagreement escalated, and B.S. allegedly stabbed Öztürk before fleeing the scene.

Emergency services were dispatched to the location following the incident. Öztürk received initial medical attention at the scene before being transported to Vize State Hospital. Despite the efforts of medical staff, she could not be saved and was pronounced dead.

Following the stabbing, gendarmerie teams launched a search for the nephew. B.S. was apprehended shortly after and taken into custody. Authorities are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the fatal stabbing.
