Wu Tsung-hsien goes to Yilan's Dongshan to make meat dumplings, sharing a meal with elders at a senior center

Ahead of the Dragon Boat Festival, legislator Wu Tsung-hsien visited Dongshan Township in Yilan County to participate in a traditional zongzi-making event with local residents. Wu, who is also a candidate for Yilan County Magistrate, highlighted the cultural importance of zongzi, stating that "each zongzi is not just a traditional delicacy but also embodies the spirit of neighborhood affection and mutual assistance."

Wu joined villagers in Dasing Community to wrap zongzi and visited the Changqing Senior Center in Anping Community. There, he accompanied the elderly for a meal, engaged in casual conversation, and helped serve food. He also visited several other community care stations in Dongshan to inquire about the well-being of the senior population.

During his visit to the senior center, Wu listened to the elders' expectations regarding venue facilities, long-term care services, and the living environment. Wu expressed gratitude to the volunteers, community leaders, and residents for their contributions, which foster a sense of love and cohesion within the community.

Wu pledged to continue working alongside the community, listening to grassroots voices, and striving to create a more friendly and prosperous living environment for the elderly. His participation in the zongzi-making and his engagement with seniors underscore his commitment to community engagement and addressing the needs of the aging population in Yilan County.
