Wydad AC protests refereeing decisions, demands investigation into missed penalty

Wydad Athletic Club has voiced strong dissatisfaction with the officiating in their recent match against MAS Fes, part of the Moroccan professional league's 27th round.

The club issued a statement expressing "extreme surprise" over several refereeing decisions. Their primary grievance centers on a clear handball in the penalty area during the first minute of the match, which they argue should have resulted in a penalty kick. Wydad highlighted the referee's failure to intervene despite the apparent nature of the infraction.

In response, Wydad has lodged a formal complaint with the Central Refereeing Committee and the National Professional Football League. They are demanding an investigation and clear explanations for the decision, which they believe unfairly impacted the game's outcome and compromised the principles of equal opportunity and fair competition.

The club condemned the officiating, calling for measures to ensure the correct application of the rules. While reaffirming their respect for institutions and confidence in processes that uphold fair play and improve refereeing standards, Wydad stressed that they reserve all rights to defend their legitimate interests.
