X-Men's Ian McKellen jokes about destroying Trump's Mar-a-Lago on Avengers set

Ian McKellen, the actor famed for playing Magneto in the X-Men saga, playfully threatened to destroy Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago residence during filming for the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday.

During a scene where Magneto was meant to unleash his powers, directors asked McKellen to appear more furious. In response, the 87-year-old actor recalled shouting, "Mar-a-Lago!" while pretending to destroy the property. The anecdote, shared at a film festival in Rome, drew laughter from the audience.

This is not the first time McKellen has expressed criticism of Trump. In 2017, he voiced strong disapproval of the Trump administration's actions regarding LGBTQ+ rights, including ignoring Pride Month and rescinding an executive order on equal pay and workplace safety. McKellen called the administration's stance "scandalous" and "deeply contrary to American values."
