Chinese President Xi Jinping met with his Belarusian counterpart, Alexander Lukashenko, in Beijing, underscoring the strong ties between the two nations. Xi highlighted the importance of maintaining strategic communication to foster the sustained development of bilateral relations, which he described as already being at a high level.

"China and Belarus should maintain strategic communication and foster the sustained development of their bilateral relations, which are already at a high level, so as to better serve the interests of the peoples of the two countries," Xi stated. He affirmed China's support for Belarus in safeguarding its national sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity. China also backs Belarus's pursuit of a development path suited to its national conditions.
