Xiaomi officially unveils the Xiaomi 18 Fold, a passport-style foldable with its own chip

Xiaomi has officially presented the Xiaomi 18 Fold in China, a passport-style foldable that the company describes as having the largest battery in its form factor. The device was shown at IFA 2026 in Berlin and launched two days before Apple’s event.

The phone has a 5.38-inch external display and a 7.58-inch internal screen. It weighs 219 grams and measures 117.8 by 163.8 by 5.02 millimeters when unfolded. Its closed thickness is 10.68 millimeters. Xiaomi Shield Glass 3.0 protects the device against falls.

Xiaomi designed the phone’s XRING O3 processor itself. The chip has a 10-core CPU and a 16-core G2-Ultra NX GPU. The device also uses LPDDR6 RAM, making it the first smartphone to incorporate that memory standard, according to the article.

The foldable features a Leica camera system with a 200-megapixel main camera, a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto lens with 3.5x zoom and a 50-megapixel ultra-wide camera. Its 6,000 mAh silicon-carbon battery supports 67-watt wired charging and 50-watt wireless charging.

The Xiaomi 18 Fold runs Xiaomi HyperOS 4, based on Android 17 and enhanced by the SuperXiaoAI 2.0 artificial intelligence system. Chinese prices range from 10,999 yuan for the 12GB RAM and 256GB storage model to 14,999 yuan for the 16GB and 1TB version. A special ceramic edition costs 15,999 yuan.
