Xpeng to Launch New Compact Electric Crossover L03 in Europe with Competitive Pricing

Chinese electric vehicle maker Xpeng is set to expand its European presence with the upcoming launch of its new compact crossover, the L03, by the end of 2024. This new model aims to blend the practicality of an SUV with the sleek aesthetics of a coupe, targeting a segment of the market seeking premium features at a more accessible price point.

The Xpeng L03 measures 4.65 meters in length and will be available with power outputs ranging from 245 to 387 horsepower, offering both rear-wheel and all-wheel-drive configurations. Equipped with 58 kWh or 71 kWh batteries, the crossover promises a WLTP-certified range of up to 445 or 520 kilometers, respectively. Impressively, despite its 400-volt architecture, the L03 supports rapid charging, capable of replenishing the battery from 10% to 80% in under 20 minutes with charging speeds up to 238 kW.

The starting price for the base model in European markets is set at 38,500 euros. Xpeng is also developing a range-extender variant, which will incorporate a 1.5-liter gasoline engine to charge a 37 kWh battery, powering the rear axle. This version is expected to achieve a total range of up to 1,000 kilometers, with over 200 kilometers available in pure electric mode. Details on the pricing for this extended-range model are yet to be announced.

Inside, the L03 features a design described as classic Chinese but with a luxurious finish. It offers a substantial 539-liter cargo space, expandable by folding the rear seats, and an additional 102-liter frunk (front trunk). The arrival of the Xpeng L03 in Europe is anticipated to generate interest due to its combination of driving range, fast-charging capabilities, and competitive pricing, positioning it as a notable contender in the growing electric crossover market.
