Yahaya Bello gives Kogi aviation student 30 million naira for pilot training

A 30 million naira intervention from former Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello enabled aviation student Enejoh Faith to complete her training and continue toward her goal of becoming a pilot.

Faith and her family visited Bello in Abuja to thank him. Her father said she had scored 89% in her public pilot licence examination and completed her training in preparation for the next stage of her aviation career.

According to Bello’s spokesperson, Onogwu Muhammed, Bello met Faith and her father on July 17, 2025, after they sought help at his residence. Faith had secured admission for aviation training but could not raise enough money to complete registration and continue the program.

Muhammed said the program cost about 30 million naira and that Bello provided more than the family initially requested because he anticipated further financial difficulties. He added that the support was kept private, with no press conference or media event organized around it.

Faith’s father said Bello had not known either of them before the meeting. He thanked the former governor and said the family would continue to remember his assistance. Muhammed said the payment formed part of Bello’s private scholarship initiatives.
