While RB Leipzig has officially cited illness as the reason for Diomande's unavailability, German media outlets, including Sky, suggest this is a strategic move. The phrase "If he doesn't play, he's leaving" was reportedly heard among journalists covering a training match. Manager Martín Demichelis stated, "Yan is genuinely ill," but offered no further details.

Reports indicate that Leipzig has already rejected an initial offer of €100 million from Real Madrid. The Spanish club is said to have submitted an improved bid, estimated between €120 million and €155 million, though Sky reports the latest offer falls short of Leipzig's €120 million valuation. Leipzig has yet to formally respond to this latest proposal.
