Yanukovych's secret life in Russia: The luxury estate where the former Ukrainian president may be hiding

Former Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych is reportedly living a life of luxury in Sochi, Russia, under an assumed identity, according to an investigation by Ukrainian platform Toronto TV. Yanukovych is believed to be residing in a sprawling three-hectare estate known as "Blahodat," which boasts multiple houses, greenhouses, gardens, a chapel, and a pond with sea and mountain views.

His security is allegedly provided by former Ukrainian State Protection officers who have since joined Russia's Federal Protection Service. These agents are reportedly wanted by Ukrainian authorities. Yanukovych's partner, Liubov Polezhai, and her family members, including her daughter Maria Sadikova and sister Nadia Marentseva, have also been identified as living in Russia and traveling with the same security detail.

Sadikova, who uses the name Liubov Sadikova in Russia, has amassed significant assets. Documents reveal she owned 337 hectares of agricultural land near Sochi, which she leased to a large Russian agricultural company, Tkachev Agrocomplex. Between 2015 and 2025, she reportedly received over 50 million rubles in lease payments and nearly 14 million rubles from property sales. In total, she has accumulated over 370 hectares of land and properties exceeding 2,400 square meters, including apartments in Moscow.

The investigation also suggests that Sadikova's official employment at Tkachev Agrocomplex, where she earned an average salary of about 50,000 rubles per month, may have been a fictitious role. She also registered a company named "Shchedrodar" in Sochi in 2024. The findings paint a picture of Yanukovych and his associates living comfortably in Russia, supported by substantial property holdings and financial assets.
