Yassine Bounou nominated for the world’s best goalkeeper award

Yassine Bounou has been named among the contenders for the 2026 Yashin Trophy, keeping the Moroccan goalkeeper in the running for one of football’s leading individual awards.

France Football announced the 10-player shortlist on Tuesday as part of the Ballon d’Or awards. Bounou features alongside Belgium’s Thibaut Courtois, Spain’s Joan García, Switzerland’s Gregor Kobel, Argentina’s Emiliano Martínez, Senegal’s Edouard Mendy, Spain’s David Raya, Russia’s Matvei Safonov, Spain’s Unai Simón and Cape Verde’s Vozinha.
