Yellow lines in Taichung's Fengyuan District changed to white to ease resident scooter parking

Residents in Taichung's Fengyuan District faced significant difficulties and financial penalties due to a lack of parking for their scooters. The issue arose after construction to uncover the Huludun Canal removed existing motorcycle parking spaces. Residents then resorted to parking on yellow lines along Xinsheng North Road, only to be frequently ticketed.

Complaints from residents, some of whom rely on their scooters for work, highlighted the hardship caused by the fines, which ranged from 600 to 1200 NT dollars. One resident expressed frustration, asking, "If I can't park in front of my house, where am I supposed to park?"

Following intervention from the office of Legislator Chen Ching-lung, including city council candidate Lien Hsiao-hua, a meeting was held with relevant authorities. The decision was made to repaint the yellow lines on both sides of Xinsheng North Road into 15cm white lines. This change aims to provide convenient parking for residents and prevent further ticketing.
