YENİ Parti calls for march supporting detained mayors, including Istanbul's İmamoğlu

The YENİ Parti has called for a march to demonstrate support for several detained party officials, most notably Istanbul Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, who is also a presidential candidate. The party announced the march will take place on Saturday at 8:00 PM, beginning at the Beylikdüzü Municipality.

According to a social media post by YENİ Parti Istanbul Provincial Chairman Özgür Çelik, the demonstration is intended to "defend the will of the people." Çelik specifically mentioned İmamoğlu, who has been imprisoned for 500 days, along with Beylikdüzü Mayor Mehmet Murat Çalık and Şişli Mayor Resul Emrah Şahan, as the focus of the support.

İmamoğlu himself amplified the call to action, sharing Çelik's announcement on his presidential candidacy office's social media account with the simple, direct message: "Let's march, friends!" The event is positioned as a public display of solidarity for party members facing legal challenges and imprisonment.
