YENİ Party's first visit is to Anıtkabir... Özgür Özel signs Special Book: 'The duty to protect your besieged legacy is entrusted to us'

The newly established YENİ Party, led by its General Chairman Özgür Özel, made its inaugural visit to Anıtkabir, the final resting place of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder of the Republic of Turkey. Accompanied by members of the party's Founders' Board, Özel laid a wreath at the mausoleum and signed the Anıtkabir Special Book.

In his inscription, Özel addressed Atatürk, stating, "Dear Atatürk, Today, with the opportunities provided by our Republic, your greatest work, we are at your presence with the members of the Founders' Board of our YENİ Party, which we have completed its establishment." He lamented that the Republic is currently facing "multiple crises" due to the policies of the ruling party, which he claims suppress democracy, undermine the rule of law, disrupt economic and social justice, and personalize state administration.

Our Republic is unfortunately facing multiple crises today.

Özel declared that the YENİ Party was founded to rescue Turkey from these crises and to protect Atatürk's endangered legacy. "We have started a new journey by founding our YENİ Party to save our Turkey from this multi-crisis environment; to properly protect all your works that have been battered, disrespected, and even enslaved," he wrote. He emphasized that the party's compass and sole guarantee is the nation, and their goal is to build a free, independent, democratic, just, and prosperous Turkey inspired by Atatürk and the fundamental principles of the Republic.

The policies of a political party in power; suppressing democracy, damaging the rule of law, disrupting economic and social justice, personalizing state administration, have dragged our country and nation into severe hardships.

"The duty to protect your besieged legacy is entrusted to the cadres of the YENİ Party," Özel stated, concluding his message with gratitude to Atatürk, his comrades-in-arms, and the founding cadres of the Republic, while honoring the martyrs. The visit precedes the YENİ Party's first Party Assembly meeting, where the Central Yönetim Kurulu members are expected to assume their duties upon the Assembly's approval. Özgür Özel and 90 other lawmakers had previously resigned from the Republican People's Party (CHP) to form the YENİ Party.
