Yenişehir parks to be renovated

Mersin's Yenişehir Municipality is set to revitalize its green spaces and parks throughout 2026. The Park and Gardens Directorate's investment and service program aims to offer residents more modern, secure, and comfortable areas. This initiative involves both upgrading current parks and establishing entirely new ones across the district.

The Vadi Project in 50 Yıl Mahallesi is a key part of this vision, designed to blend nature with urban life and serve as a vital green lung for residents. Körfez Park in İnönü Mahallesi will be renovated to include a cafeteria and a baby care room, enhancing its appeal for visitors. Ahmet Taner Kışlalı Park in 50 Yıl Mahallesi and Mimoza Park in Barbaros Mahallesi will undergo complete makeovers to achieve a modern aesthetic. Additionally, a new park will be established in Kocavilayet Mahallesi to increase the city's green cover, with another park planned at the intersection of streets 2148 and 2127 in Barbaros Mahallesi.

The municipality is prioritizing the needs of children and sports enthusiasts. The ground surfaces of play areas in 15 parks will be renewed for improved safety. New play equipment and fitness apparatus will be installed, alongside the replacement of benches and trash bins. To bolster security, 17 parks will be equipped with camera systems, starting with Ali Kaya Mutlu Park. The lighting systems in all parks will be updated, with a focus on eco-friendly solar-powered solutions. Water conservation and efficiency will be improved by replacing existing irrigation systems with modern, automated ones.
