YKS Exam Results Due Wednesday as Countdown Begins

The much-anticipated results for the 2024 Higher Education Institutions Exam (YKS) are set to be released on Wednesday, July 22, according to the ÖSYM (Student Selection and Placement Center) calendar. The exam, a crucial step for Turkish students seeking university admission, took place on June 20-21.

Candidates will be able to check their individual scores and rankings through the official ÖSYM website. Access will require their Turkish Republic Identification (T.C. Kimlik) numbers and their personal passwords, which they used during the application process.

Upon the announcement of the exam results, ÖSYM will also release the "Higher Education Programs and Quotas Guide." This comprehensive guide will provide essential information for prospective students, including the number of available spots (quotas) in various university programs and the minimum and maximum scores that were accepted in the previous year. The guide will also detail specific admission requirements for certain departments, the application process timeline, and accreditation information.

Similar to last year, certain programs are expected to maintain "success conditions" for admission. For instance, in 2025, applicants aiming for medical programs will need to rank within the top 50,000 in the numerical score category. The success threshold for law programs has been set at the top 100,000, while teaching programs require candidates to be within the top 300,000 in the relevant score type. Students will submit their preferences through ÖSYM's candidate transaction system, with the flexibility to make changes to their choices throughout the application period.
