Young motorcyclist dies after crashing into barriers in Istanbul

A tragic accident on a highway in Istanbul has resulted in the death of a young motorcyclist. The incident occurred yesterday around 2:15 PM on the D-100 highway, heading towards Edirne in the 19 Mayıs Mahallesi area.

Samet Kurnaz, identified as the rider of the motorcycle with license plate 34 PRU 461, reportedly lost control of his vehicle. The motorcycle veered off course and collided with the highway barriers. The impact caused the motorcycle to overturn, leaving Kurnaz severely injured.

Emergency services, including police and medical teams, were dispatched to the scene following the accident. Police secured the area and managed traffic flow while paramedics provided initial treatment to Kurnaz, who was unconscious. He was subsequently transported to a hospital via ambulance.

Despite being admitted to the intensive care unit and receiving all necessary medical interventions, Samet Kurnaz's condition did not improve. He passed away in the hospital during the evening hours. Kurnaz, who worked as a motorcycle courier, was taken to the Forensic Medicine Institute morgue for an autopsy. Police have launched an investigation into the cause of the accident, footage of which was captured on mobile phones.
