Young Rally Hopeful Withdraws from Finland Race After Bad News

Talented 19-year-old rally driver Tuukka Kauppinen has withdrawn from the upcoming European Rally Championship event in the Czech Republic. The decision comes after a crash during the Finland rally, where Kauppinen's team manager, Markku Rautio, emphasized the need for the young driver to find a period of calm for his development.

Rautio, speaking to Rallit.fi, described Kauppinen as a very gifted driver who has shown speed at every World Rally Championship event this season, even winning at least one stage in the WRC2 category. However, he stressed that development in racing is not always linear and that a short break can offer a new perspective.

Tukka is a very talented driver. He has shown speed at every WRC event this season, having won at least one stage in the WRC2 category every time. Right now, the most important thing is that he achieves the peace needed for development.

"We believe that this experience will help Tuukka return even stronger," Rautio stated, adding that Kauppinen's future plans will be revealed at a later date. The withdrawal is not related to the back injury sustained by his co-driver Sebastian Virtanen during the Finland rally, as Kauppinen was set to compete with Topi Luhtinen in the Czech event.
