Youths attack man in Vienna after allegedly harassing animals

A violent incident unfolded in a Vienna park when four young individuals allegedly harassed animals, prompting a 57-year-old man to intervene. The situation escalated rapidly as the group reportedly turned on the man, threatening him with a knife and assaulting him with a blunt object, leaving him with a bleeding head injury.

According to police reports, the attackers fled the scene on bicycles. A manhunt was immediately initiated by authorities, but the suspects remain at large. Emergency medical services treated the injured man at the scene before transporting him to the hospital for further examination.

Witnesses described the assailants as possibly being of Arab descent, with ages estimated between 13 and 16 years old. They reportedly spoke in Arabic and were seen wearing light jeans and carrying small backpacks. While authorities have not officially confirmed the ethnic background of the suspects, witness accounts are a key part of the ongoing investigation.

The park is known to house alpacas, sheep, and goats. The Vienna city gardening department confirmed the incident and noted that additional fencing had previously been installed around the animal enclosure.
