YouTuber Kim Se-eui, Indicted for Defaming Kim Soo-hyun, Placed in Solitary Confinement

YouTuber Kim Se-eui, who faces charges including defamation of actor Kim Soo-hyun, has reportedly been moved to a solitary cell at the Seoul Detention Center. Sources indicate Kim has been held in isolation since early this month. The reason cited for his solitary confinement is a purported threat to his safety from victims involved in other defamation cases he is associated with.

Kim's placement in isolation has drawn a strong reaction from Eun Hyun-jang, a YouTuber who has sued Kim for allegedly spreading false information about stock manipulation. Eun Hyun-jang posted on YouTube the day after Kim's arrest, directly addressing Kim and warning him not to expect a comfortable stay in prison. He even offered a financial incentive, promising to send 2 million won (approximately $1,450) for prison supplies and an additional 10 million won (approximately $7,250) monthly if inmates ensure Kim faces hardship until he escapes.

This situation highlights the contentious nature of online defamation cases in South Korea. Kim Se-eui's legal troubles extend beyond the Kim Soo-hyun case; he also faces accusations related to stalking and threats against YouTuber Tzuyang. His absence from the first hearing of Tzuyang's case was attributed to terror threats, further complicating his legal standing and public perception.
