Zagreb Police Charge Two Minors After Sigečica Vandalism Incidents

Zagreb police have concluded a criminal investigation into incidents of vandalism and public order disturbances involving minors in the Sigečica neighborhood. The investigation culminated in charges against two minors for property damage, following concerns raised by the local community committee about repeated offenses.

The case gained public attention after the Sigečica Local Committee alerted the public to frequent incidents where groups of minors were allegedly damaging property and disrupting public order. In response, the police confirmed they were conducting enhanced surveillance in the area and actively working to identify those responsible.

The investigation, initiated on July 15 after reports of an incident on Rapska Street, involved questioning two minors in the presence of their parents. Their "deviant behavior" was reported to the relevant regional office of the Croatian Employment Agency for Social Welfare. Two additional minors were questioned on July 17 as suspects in connection with the property damage, also with their parents or guardians and a social worker present.

The damaged commercial entity had previously filed a criminal complaint. Following the investigation, Zagreb police filed charges against two minors with the Municipal Public Prosecutor's Office for Youth in Zagreb for suspected property damage. The relevant social welfare office was also informed. Police stated they would continue increased patrols in Sigečica to prevent public order offenses and other illegal activities, with this charge marking the first concrete result of their investigation.
