Zagreb students to pitch film projects to industry professionals at PitchADU

Zagreb is buzzing with creative energy as the Academy of Dramatic Arts (ADU) prepares to host its ninth PitchADU event. This initiative, a collaboration between ADU and the Croatian Film Directors' Guild, provides a crucial platform for emerging filmmakers to showcase their work to industry leaders. The event underscores Zagreb's commitment to nurturing its film talent and integrating them into the broader professional landscape.

This year, 13 student projects spanning various formats – including feature films, documentaries, short films, and series – will be presented. The core objective of PitchADU is to bridge the gap between academic training and professional practice. By offering students a concise five-minute pitch to present their concepts, the event facilitates vital networking, potential collaborations, and the development of their projects. This direct exposure to producers, broadcasters, festival representatives, and cultural institution officials is invaluable for young artists navigating the competitive film industry.

The goal of the event is to enable students to present their projects to relevant professionals through short pitch presentations, establish contacts, develop projects, and gain valuable experience.

Adding to the event's significance, acclaimed director Igor Šeregi will share his insights on the journey of his successful film, 'Svadba.' His presentation offers a real-world case study, illustrating the path from initial concept to successful realization – a narrative that will undoubtedly inspire the student participants. The presence of key figures from institutions like the Croatian Audiovisual Centre (HAVC) and the Ministry of Culture and Media further highlights the event's importance in the national cultural ecosystem.
