Zamfara State Makes History with First Hajj Flight from Gusau International Airport

Governor Lawal of Zamfara State has made history by inaugurating the first Hajj flight to depart from Gusau International Airport. This milestone signifies a major achievement for the state, fulfilling a long-standing promise and demonstrating the administration's commitment to improving infrastructure and facilitating religious pilgrimages for its citizens. The inaugural flight, carrying 415 intending pilgrims, departed on Friday aboard Max Air, marking a new era of direct travel to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for Hajj. Previously, pilgrims from Zamfara had to travel to Sokoto or Kano to catch their flights, adding considerable time and expense to their journey. Governor Lawal expressed his profound happiness and gratitude, emphasizing the airport as a legacy project that will enhance comfort and accessibility for pilgrims. Discussions are already underway with airlines to establish commercial flight operations from Gusau International Airport, further boosting the state's connectivity and economic potential. This development is a source of pride for Zamfara State, showcasing progress and the realization of key development goals.
