Zelenskyy Announces 40-Day Operation to Increase Pressure on Russia

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy of Ukraine has authorized a 40-day operation by the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), intended to intensify pressure on Russia and push for an end to the ongoing war. The announcement came after a consultation with SBU leadership regarding recent attacks targeting Russian objectives.

"I have approved the Service's deployment of a 40-day operation aimed at exerting pressure on the aggressor state, with the goal of compelling it to end the war," Zelenskyy stated in a message published on Telegram. This initiative reflects Ukraine's strategy to counter Russian aggression through sustained military and strategic actions.

In recent months, Ukraine has conducted numerous medium and long-range missile strikes against targets within Russia and occupied territories. These attacks have primarily focused on critical infrastructure and the oil industry. President Zelenskyy highlighted the SBU's effectiveness in recent months, attributing some of the best results in defending Ukrainian positions on the front lines to the diverse use of drones in military operations.
