Zelenskyy links Poland's award revocation to internal election politics

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy suggested that Poland's decision to revoke his Order of the White Eagle is a tactic related to Poland's upcoming 2027 elections. He believes Polish President Andrzej Duda is using this move as part of an internal political battle to gain an advantage for his party over Prime Minister Tusk's.

In an interview with the media outlet TSN, as reported by the Unian news agency, Zelenskyy stated, "I see this exclusively as the start of an election process. They have elections in 2027. President Andrzej Duda is fighting for the prime minister's seat so that his party defeats Prime Minister Tusk. We have nothing to do with this; it is their internal matter."

Zelenskyy emphasized that Ukraine has no involvement in this internal Polish political dynamic. The decision to revoke the award, a high honor bestowed by Poland, appears to be a domestic political maneuver by the Polish president rather than a reflection of bilateral relations between the two countries.
