Zelenskyy: Ukraine-Serbia free trade talks progressing, grateful for new aid package

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that negotiations for a free trade agreement between Ukraine and Serbia are advancing well. He expressed optimism that both sides could finalize the agreement by the end of the year, highlighting its potential to strengthen economic ties.

We should work hard to reach a free trade agreement, these negotiations are progressing and this is positive. It would be good to prepare everything by the end of this year so that we can conclude a free trade agreement between Ukraine and Serbia.

Zelenskyy also conveyed his gratitude for Serbia's commitment to providing a new humanitarian aid package to Ukraine. He specifically mentioned the crucial support in the healthcare and energy sectors, areas heavily impacted by the ongoing conflict. This aid is seen as a significant contribution to Ukraine's recovery and resilience.

Discussions also covered bilateral cooperation on infrastructure development and enhancing Ukraine's security. Zelenskyy noted concrete projects aimed at rebuilding and strengthening Ukraine's infrastructure, particularly its railway system. He emphasized that such collaborations would be vital for preserving existing jobs and creating new employment opportunities in both Ukraine and Serbia.
