Zeytinburnu burglary suspects arrested, jailed

Authorities have arrested and remanded three suspects in connection with a brazen burglary that occurred in Istanbul's Zeytinburnu district. The incident took place on July 19 at an apartment in the Yeşiltepe neighborhood.

According to reports, the perpetrators gained entry by breaking the lock cylinder of the apartment door. Once inside, they stole a significant amount of cash, including $1,100 and €1,300, along with approximately 21 grams of gold jewelry, before fleeing the scene.

The Istanbul Police Department's Anti-Theft Bureau launched an investigation immediately after the crime was reported. Crucially, security camera footage captured the suspects entering the building and leaving after the theft. This visual evidence proved instrumental in the subsequent police operation.

Following a thorough review of the footage, police identified the suspects as P.Ç., F.Ç., and D.S. A swift operation led to their apprehension. Further investigation revealed that suspect P.Ç. has a criminal record of 44 previous offenses, while F.Ç. has a record of 26 offenses. After processing at the Police Department's Public Order Branch, the three suspects were brought before the judiciary and subsequently ordered to be imprisoned.
