ZIMSEC Releases 2026 June Exam Results - O-Level Pass Rate Drops, A-Level Performance Improves

The Zimbabwe School Examinations Council (ZIMSEC) has announced the release of the 2026 June examination results for both Ordinary and Advanced Levels. Candidates can access their results online through the ZIMSEC portal, which will remain open for five days from August 3, 2026.

This year's results show a significant decline in the Ordinary Level pass rate. For candidates who sat for five or more subjects, the pass rate fell by 2.87 percentage points to 3% in June 2026, a notable decrease from the 5.87% recorded in 2025.

The Zimbabwe School Examinations Council board and management would like to advise the nation of the release of the 2026 June Ordinary and Advanced Level examination results.

In contrast, performance at the Advanced Level has seen a marked improvement. The pass rate for candidates who achieved at least two subjects at Grade E or better increased by 11.88%, reaching 67.74% in 2026. This indicates a stronger performance among students pursuing higher education qualifications.

With effect from today, 3 August 2026 at 6pm, Ordinary and Advanced Level examination results will be accessible to all candidates and authorised personnel online through the ZIMSEC portal accessed via the ZIMSEC website.

ZIMSEC board chairperson Professor Paul Mapfumo stated during a media briefing in Harare that the results would be available online for a limited period. Heads of examination centers will also begin collecting printed results from ZIMSEC regional offices on Tuesday.

The release of these results marks a crucial point in the academic year for thousands of students across Zimbabwe, with the contrasting pass rates highlighting different trends in educational outcomes at the O-Level and A-Level stages.
