‘Zombies’ actress Carla Jeffery dies at 33

Carla Jeffery, the American actress known for playing cheerleader Bree in Disney Channel’s “Zombies” franchise, has died at 33.

Her representative, Carla Alexander, confirmed the death on social media. Alexander said Jeffery died on Sept. 1, 2026, but did not give a cause of death. She had represented Jeffery for nearly 20 years.

“Perhaps she has left this world, but not our hearts. Rest in peace, Carla J. Jeffery,” Alexander wrote.

With deep sadness we share the passing of our beloved Carla Jeffery, who died on September 1, 2026, at just 33 years old.

Jeffery was born on July 10, 1993, in Houston, Texas. She began acting under the influence of her siblings and appeared in the 2006 film “Phat Girlz” and television series including “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” created by Larry David, and “Meet the Blacks.”

She made her debut as Bree in the first “Zombies” film in 2018. The character was a cheerful cheerleader and the best friend of Addison Wells, played by Meg Donnelly. Jeffery later appeared in the franchise’s sequels.
