1.22 Million Euro Contract Signed for Metamorfosis Urban Regeneration and Road Safety Projects

A significant urban regeneration and road safety project, valued at 1.22 million euros, has been officially contracted for the municipality of Metamorfosis, Greece. The agreement was signed by Attica Regional Governor Nikos Hardalias and Metamorfosis Mayor Stratos Saraoudas.

The project, funded by the Attica Region's own resources, will encompass the renovation of Herakleio, Bizaniou, and Agios Nektarios streets, covering a total length of 1,060 meters. The interventions aim to improve road safety, enhance the aesthetic and functional quality of public spaces, and ensure seamless accessibility for all residents.

Key works include extensive asphalt resurfacing, anti-skid treatments, and the construction or reconstruction of sidewalks, accessibility ramps, and pedestrian crossings. A crucial component of the project is the complete opening of Bizaniou street between Pefkon and Solomos streets, which will establish a direct connection to the city center.

Governor Hardalias highlighted the project as part of a broader regional strategy for safer transportation across Attica. He stated, "Road safety is a constant priority for us, requiring continuous presence, systematic work, and interventions at every level." He noted that 58% of planned road safety projects within the region's strategic plan up to 2028 are already underway, aiming to mitigate hazardous areas and improve conditions for drivers, passengers, pedestrians, and cyclists.

Mayor Saraoudas described the project as one of the largest ever undertaken in Metamorfosis. He expressed gratitude to the Regional Governor for his support and emphasized the importance of the Bizaniou street opening, which involves the demolition of four houses after compensation to residents. This vital infrastructure development is expected to significantly improve the functionality and livability of the city.
