About Ta Nea

Ta Nea, founded in 1931 as Athinaika Nea, was historically owned by the Lambrakis Press Group (DOL). In May 2017, the heavily indebted DOL group, including Ta Nea, was acquired by Alter Ego Media S.A., a group belonging to shipowner Evangelos Marinakis, who also owns Olympiakos Piraeus and Nottingham Forest football clubs.
