1,370 doctors left Israel over three years, research finds, equivalent to a hospital

A total of 1,370 doctors left Israel over the past three years without returning, according to research by Tel Aviv University. The figure is equivalent to the staff of a hospital.

The researchers documented extensive emigration between 2023 and 2025. They found that the annual number of physicians who departed and did not return rose fivefold compared with the previous decade.

The findings highlight the scale of Israel’s medical brain drain during the three-year period.
