11 hill stations in Nepal that offer the perfect escape from the summer heat

Kathmandu – As temperatures soar across Nepal, residents are seeking refuge from the scorching summer heat in the country's numerous hill stations. The rising mercury has made even indoor environments uncomfortable, prompting many to look for cooler destinations offering respite with fresh air, lush greenery, and panoramic mountain vistas.

Nagarkot, located about 32 kilometers east of Kathmandu, is a prime choice for relief. It is celebrated for its cool climate and offers breathtaking views of the Himalayas, including Mount Everest, along with spectacular sunrises. Similarly, Dhulikhel, situated around 30 kilometers east of Kathmandu at an elevation of 1,550 meters, provides a refreshing escape with its stunning mountain scenery and rich Newari culture.

Further afield, Daman, about 80 kilometers southwest of Kathmandu, presents sweeping views of the Himalayan range from Everest to Dhaulagiri.
