12,000 military personnel cast early votes in Johor state election

Defense Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin expressed confidence that the 12,000 military personnel participating in early voting for the Johor state elections have made choices that will ensure the nation's stability and effective governance. Early voting commenced across various military camps in Johor, including Kem Iskandar Mersing, Kem Mahkota Kluang, Kem Segamat, Kem Batu Pahat, Kem Pengerang, Kem Senibong, and Kem Tebrau.

I believe members of the military primarily understand their responsibilities. And I believe that in carrying out their responsibilities, surely among the things they prioritize is their contribution to stability.

Mohamed Khaled, who is also the Member of Parliament for Kota Tinggi, highlighted that military members understand their responsibilities and prioritize national stability. He stressed that a stable environment is essential for the armed forces to carry out their duties of defending the country without disruption.

He further elaborated that instability within the country could hinder the security forces' focus and core tasks in safeguarding national sovereignty.

The early voting process involved 20,607 registered early voters across 64 polling centers, which opened at 8 a.m. and closed sequentially between noon and 6 p.m. The Johor state election features 172 candidates competing for 56 State Legislative Assembly seats, with a total of 2.7 million voters expected to participate on the main polling day.
