12-year-old boy dies in traffic accident in Santiago

A tragic traffic accident in Santiago has claimed the life of a 12-year-old boy who was riding a motorcycle. The incident occurred on Núñez de Cáceres street, near the Centro Católico Carismático, in the southern part of the city.

The victim has been identified as Marcos Almonte Martínez. According to the preliminary report from the Directorate General of Traffic and Land Transportation (Digesett), the boy was operating a motorcycle when the collision with a Hyundai car, license plate I05233, took place.

Following the impact, the young motorcyclist fell to the pavement. He was promptly transported by the car's driver to the Centro Médico Batista for medical attention. Despite receiving care, he later succumbed to his injuries.

The driver of the car, whose name has been withheld for privacy, cooperated with authorities and assisted the minor after the accident. The motorcycle involved in the collision was not present when officials arrived at the scene to conduct their investigation. Authorities are currently examining the details of the incident to determine the exact cause of the collision.
