12-year-old Nigerian wins bronze at World Performing Arts Championships

A 12-year-old Nigerian actor, Chibuchi David Francis, has earned a bronze medal in the Acting Category at the 2026 World Championships of Performing Arts (WCOPA) held in Las Vegas. The global competition, which ran from July 13 to 21, saw participants from over 80 countries compete in various performing arts disciplines.

Francis represented Team Nigeria, led by Ambassador Lovethpatra White Ekufu, the National Director of WCOPA Team Nigeria and Founder of Street2Fame Nigeria Performing Arts Entertainment. His participation was sponsored by Street2Fame Nigeria as part of its initiative to provide international opportunities for gifted Nigerian youths.

Ekufu hailed the bronze medal as a testament to the talent and potential of Nigerian children when given the right support. "The bronze medal won by Chibuchi David Francis proves that Nigerian youths possess world-class talent," she stated. "When young people are given the opportunity to dream, prepare and compete, they can excel on the global stage."
