15 Dance Groups Compete at Ksatria Fest 3.0

Fifteen dance groups from various cities and provinces in Indonesia are set to compete in the Ksatria Fest 3.0 dance competition, showcasing their choreographic creativity. The final stage of this event will take place from July 1 to 4, 2026, at Taman Ismail Marzuki in Central Jakarta.

These 15 finalists were selected from an initial pool of 38 registered groups. The competition, which focuses on "tradipop" choreography, a blend of traditional values and popular approaches, has been running for three editions. The preliminary selection process, conducted online from April 4 to May 30, narrowed down the participants to this final group.

The Ksatria Fest winners will receive honorary titles, namely Laskar Ksatria Tari Indonesia for the group category, Garda Ksatria Tari Indonesia for duet, and Wira Ksatria Tari Indonesia for solo.

Ksatria Fest 3.0 aims to go beyond mere competition. According to creative director and initiator Bathara Saverigadi Dewandoro, the festival seeks to build identity and responsibility among its winners. Those who emerge victorious will be awarded honorary titles: "Laskar Ksatria Tari Indonesia" for group category winners, "Garda Ksatria Tari Indonesia" for duets, and "Wira Ksatria Tari Indonesia" for solo performers.

A panel of five judges, including senior dancer Hartati, Siko Setyanto (founder of Resiko Berkelompok and Dansity Dance Company), creative director and producer Ronald Soe, dancer and digital creator Echa Laksmi, and composer Bagaskoro P.D., will evaluate the participants. The judging criteria will encompass technical aspects, choreography, musical composition, costume design, and overall stage performance. Each participant will have approximately four minutes to present their work. Siko emphasized that the judges would select participants who demonstrate the "best aspects" and perform with "sincerity."
