15 dogs rescued from abandonment and mistreatment in Calpulalpan, Tlaxcala; animal cruelty investigation launched

In Calpulalpan, Tlaxcala, Mexico, authorities rescued fifteen dogs found in a state of abandonment and suffering from animal mistreatment. The operation took place on a property within the municipality, following a citizen's report.

Officials from the Directorate of Inspection and Surveillance of the State Environmental Protection Prosecutor's Office discovered fifteen canines of various breeds and sizes. These animals were severely malnourished and kept in overcrowded conditions, with insufficient access to food and water, according to an official report. The property was subsequently suspended, and administrative proceedings have begun to determine responsibility and impose sanctions.

The rescued dogs have been transferred to the State Animal Welfare Coordination (CBA) for veterinary care and health assessments. The Tlaxcala State Prosecutor's Office announced that a criminal complaint will be filed with the State Prosecutor's Office to conduct further investigations and determine legal accountability for the mistreatment.
