Lawyer murdered in downtown Temixco, Morelos; legal community demands capture of perpetrators

Lawyers in Morelos are demanding justice after one of their colleagues was fatally shot in the center of Temixco on Wednesday afternoon. The victim, a member of the Association of United Litigators of Morelos, was killed by gunfire.

The attack occurred at 3:35 p.m. at the intersection of Privada de Belén and Encamisadero streets. Police and paramedics responded to emergency calls reporting gunshots, but the lawyer had already succumbed to his injuries. Initial reports indicate the assailants escaped in a gray Volkswagen Jetta and on a motorcycle, heading towards the Lomas del Carril neighborhood.

While some unofficial accounts suggest a possible robbery attempt, the State Attorney General's Office has not ruled out other motives. The Association of United Litigators of Morelos condemned the attack, calling it a direct assault on the rule of law and the free practice of law in the state. Forensic experts processed the crime scene, collecting shell casings and arranging for the body's removal. The investigation is ongoing to identify the attackers and determine the motive.
