2,464 seats added for second wave of Mid-Autumn Festival and Teachers' Day holiday flights

The Taiwan Civil Aeronautics Administration is adding 2,464 seats to flights between Taiwan and Kinmen to accommodate increased demand during the upcoming Mid-Autumn Festival and Teachers' Day holiday. The holiday period runs from September 25 to September 28.

This second wave of additional flights follows an initial release of seats on July 27. The administration is adjusting capacity based on booking trends and passenger needs to improve air transport services between the mainland and the Kinmen islands.

Travelers booking tickets for peak travel times will face specific restrictions. Peak travel is defined as departing from Taiwan to the islands between September 24 and 26, and returning from the islands to Taiwan between September 27 and 29. Tickets purchased for these periods will be marked as valid only for the specific flight and date, and will be void if not used. A tiered refund fee system will also be implemented, with fees ranging from 10% to 30% of the ticket price depending on how close to the departure date the refund is requested.

Local authorities are urging residents to book their tickets in advance to avoid the need for standby at the airport. They also remind travelers that flights to and from outlying islands are susceptible to weather disruptions and advise monitoring the latest weather information for travel planning.
